This course, designed by the Texas Department of Public Safety is a course to train local school officials, teachers, and employees on how to respond to an active shooter. Only those that are permitted to carry a firearm in school; also benefit those officials, teachers, and employees who are concerned citizens that do not carry while at school. Everybody can learn how to respond to an active shooter or high alert situation — encouraging all to use items and resources available to them at their local school. The objective of this course is to educate staff on the responsibilities related to school safety who are employees of a school district or open-enrollment charter school who hold a License To Carry (LTC) a handgun in public at a school.
This course is a two-day (15-hour min) course and includes classroom simulation training and advanced live-fire training. You must already have a current LTC to take this course.
